Hey,

It is frustrating for a new hand to struggle with DNN. I want to transfer a whole working DNN application, including a database, to another develop machine, which installed DNN 3.2. The existing application is running on DNN 3.0, ASP.NET 1.1. I restore the database and copy the whole application to the develop machine, but I keep the MachineValidationKey and MachineDecryptionKey of this develop machine.  However, every time I browse the application on the develop machine, it redirect to the web pages on the previous machine. Why it redirects? How could I mak it work on the develop machine?

I am eally confused, and find no solution in this forum. Could someone help me? Thanks a lot!

You should be able to access the site on the new box by using http://localhost or http://<%YourMachineName%>, rather than any alias that you've added to the installation.

If this does not work (which it should), you can edit an existing alias in the PortalAlias table of your DB.

Thank you, cjsmitty! Now I can browse the application on the develop mahchine, but I couldn't use host account to log in. I use the same MachineValidationKey and MachineDecryptionKey with the original machine. What should I do?
