Hello.

Something strange happened, i uploaded the upgrade of 5.6.2 (from 6.1) and then run the website page. Nothing happened for a while and them the website was loaded.

No messages, no errors, nothing.

In the host i see the new version and seems to work. Is that normal ? I do remember some results text in previous updates.

Thanks

1. Unless you had set AutoUpgrade to false in the <appSettings> section of web.config, the upgrade would have occured the first time anyone hit the site so that would account for not seeing the upgrade take place and for seeing in Host Settings or Host Dashboard that the site was already on 5.6.2. I would, however, check the Event Viewer and the /Providers/DataProviders/SqlDataProvider/05.06.02.log.resources file for any errors that may have occurred during the upgrade. In the future it is best to keep both AutoUpgrade and UseInstallWizard set to false in web.config and place a file named App_Offline.htm containing at least 512 bytes of HTML in the root folder just before uploading the upgrade files to a live production site. Once the file upload has completed and you are ready to trigger the upgrade, remove or rename the App_Offline.htm file and manually trigger the upgrade by browings to yoursitedomain.com/Install/Install.aspx?mode=upgrade

2. Modules (with the exception of HTML) are not automatically upgraded during a framework upgrade. New module versions should be installed from the Host --> Extensions page using either the action command Install Available Extensions (for those extensions included in the upgrade package) or the Install Wizard for those extensions you have separately downloaded from CodePlex, etc.

Hi Bill,

The autoupgrade was TRUE. I didn't see ANY information on my screen about what was going on.

Are you sure the Blog 4.0.1 is not included ? Whis is what the Blog post here says.

I will try again, seems kinda strange since this is my 4th upgrade of DNN and the first with problems.

Thank you

Modules need to be manually updated.

In the Host -> Extensions module - select install available extensions from the action menu.
Any NEW modules versions will be listed there with an option to upgrade / install them
