OMG - that's HUGE.. yes - you need to find an easier way- I can't imagine how it can be so big, it must be some project..

Couple of ways you can do this - zip and upload bit by bit..or use FTP - if you look at the folder structure - you'll see under Portals/_default/Skins/dnn-blue/skinfiles.  That's the format you need use.

Look at your current structure and just ftp the whole lot to the server..

I was also thinking - you could perhaps use the file manager to upload the images, and then use the normal skin uploader to install the skins minus images..
