Eliminating the Friendly URLs is not an option for our sites. Hopefully they will fix this soon and then I will upgrade again.

I worked around this issue by copying the 5.6.1 files again. Doing this I lost many of admin's features but the website is working fine for public visitors including the Friendly URLs hability. I can restore the admin's features by copying the 5.6.2 files again.
I know that this isn't a big deal but is all I have by now.

Could any of this have to do with the option to track links when you originally create them?

Robin, your post was back in January... I saw no listed solution. It is now May, and I'm having the same problem. Anyone know of a solution? Yes, turned off friendly URLs, reset the app pool... turned of Gzip... done of that helped...
