Hello, i'm new to DNN and the Wiki module, but I'll be implementing one for my department, and just thinking down the road, what kind of procedure would be required for backing up the wiki articles/pages?  We'll be using it for information sharing and sort of knowledge base things and I want to make sure in case something goes wrong, the information isn't totally lost.

The way to back up the Wiki is the same way you would back up all the other content in DotNetNuke - by backing up the DotNetNuke SQL database. All the Wiki pages and their content are contained within tables in that database. By backing up that one database you backup all Wikis you have created in DotNetNuke and all other DotNetNuke content. To be a little more specific - all the Wiki tables are prefixed "Wiki_" in the database.

There is one other thing you need to back up to be complete - all files within the folder that you install DotNetNuke into on your webserver. These files do not generally hold website "content" - they comprise the DotNetNuke framework itself plus all the installed modules, skins, and uploaded files.

The Wiki Administrators can save a copy of their Wiki data at any time by clicking the Save Pages button located under Maintenance. This data can then be imported into a new Wiki site by clicking the Load Pages button, again under Maintenance. It is a good idea to Clean Database and Refresh Links before saving pages.

We're also looking at implementing the iportable functionality in a future release to make it easier to import/export data into the wiki module.
