The biggest downfall that I'm seeing with my new Forum installation is the difficulty in posting pictures to the forums.   Other Bulletin Boards allow "BBCode" which allows users to quickly link to photos/images on other websites.   I could enable 'Attachments', but I only have 1GB of storage so I don't want that to fill up.   The "Image Mapper" only points to local images, so a user would have to upload an image to the host.

I just want something as easy to use as the other Forum options available out there.  Does anyone have an easier way of linking pix?   Instructions?  A module that allows BBCode?

Thank you

We ran into this as well on our latest portals. If your users are used to BBcode on your board the easiest method to get them acquainted is to show them that all you have to do (at least while using the radeditor) is to right click and copy the target image then paste into the editor window. We even went so far as to make a video with the instructions showing how it works.

Hope that helps.

Did that help?   Dood... you just blew my mind.   I've been using other message boards for so long that I'm just used to using BBCODE everywhere.  This is going to be 10 times easier.   The fact that it automatically resizes it is the icing on the cake!

Thank you very much.   I actually linked to your tutorial on my "HOW TO:  Posting Pictures" pinned thread.   I hope you don't mind.

You are more than welcome to link to it. We had a really hard time migrating users to using the new system since most of the posts on our customers site were being posted with linked images and they were used to grabbing BBCode from their post on another board and using that to post to everywhere else. Once we put the video out the whining stopped, lol.
