Hi All

I have given each page a title in the page settings but still the browser tab just shows the URL rather than the title.  Can someone tell me what I need to do so that the title is displayed please?

My website is www.exceldesignsolutions.com

Regards
Jon

Jon,

How do you have the DNS setup for this TLD? It's displaying in an Iframe and because of this it will show the page title for the current page, not the pages displaying in the iframe.

If you look at the source of the iframe, which is http://www.exceldesignsolutions.com/1, and navigate through that the page titles do change so this is actually working as it should.

Regards,

Rick.

Hi Rick

Thanks for looking at this for me.  What you say makes perfect sense.  My host told me I wouldn't be able to install DNN at the root level (httpdocs) because of permissions.  So they set up /1 and put a redirect on it, and I installed DNN in that directory on their instruction.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix?  Is this something I should take up with the host?  I don't  mind if I have a single page title, e.g. Excel Design Solutions, regardless of which page is displayed.  Sorry but I'm really not very knowledgeable in this subject, and so far DNN has been so easy to build a site with so I still know very little in terms of how these things actually work. :)

Jon,

Not 100% sure about this one, but if your host won't let you install DNN to the root of your domain I'd be inclined to find a host that does. If this isn't possible get them to look at the redirect options as it appears they've done a framed redirect rather than a simple old-url.com to new-url.com.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge on hosting can add to this thread with some other options.

Regards,

Rick.

Thanks Rick.  I think I might pursue the 1st option because they really have been very difficult to work with recently. Pity because I have been with them for years and they used to be alot more helpful. :(
