I am working on a 5.6.1 site deployment, but the customer has a requirement to maintain a log of all email messages (including the body) sent/generated by the DNN site.  I have done this before on a 4.5.1 site, but I had to modify the core source code and change the SendMail function to log every message to the EventLog.  Can anyone think of any method of doing this that would not require modifying the code?  I considered possibly setting up SMTP on the customer's IIS server and configuring it to log the content of all message traffic, but I couldn't find any way to configure it to do that either.  Thoughts?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I would like the customer to be able to easily upgrade their core going forward rather than having to re-compile every time a new release comes out.

Thanks!

Hi There,

I'm using DNN Community Edition 5.6.2. I was wondering if there's such a thing as well. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

Regards,
Christopher TS

AJ, did you ever get anywhere with this?

We've been using AuthSMTP for our outbound email. It doesn't log the message body, but it does log the to/from and subject.

William
