Hi Jan, although in site settings it's called edit skin, we typically call it admin (admin.ascx), when creating the skin :-)

IMHO even in DNN 1 to 4, the name "admin" was misleading, because it was used for any non-default view as now (but applied to admin and host menu pages as well, which has been leveraged in DNN 5). "Edit" might not be the best name either, but I am not aware of a better name. I would like to see an option to override Edit skin and container on page/module level as well - what are your thoughts about this?

Cheers from Germany,

Totally agree. Having the possibility to define a different edit skin for specific pages would be very useful in some situations.
Maybe an improvement the team could consider in future releases.

OK the name nondefaultskinfornondefaultcontrols.ascx is more accurate:)

Why not use some ugly modal windows for edit :)

Home page skin for the privacy etc is not a hit either...Special skin for the language editor etc..

No standards for the width of a module ...

It ends up you make a design that fits for all..
