Check that the user account on the site's application pool has the correct permissions for the physical folders in your site.

Hi Chris,

I've been following your DNN 7.0 installation videos. They are very good and I really appreciate them. I've followed them to a t !!
Unfortunately for me, I'm getting this error when I try to access http://www.dnndev.me:

"HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error

The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid."

It's saying I have a problem with my web.config file but I don't know what to do to resolve it. When I track the problem on Microsoft Support it tells me
"Delete the malformed XML element from the ApplicationHost.config file or from the Web.config file." However I checked the web.config file for malformation and a validator says it is fine.

It's very frustrating as I can't get any further and i've hit a brick wall. I'm surely not the only person to have had this problem. Any ideas?

Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Chris,
I've been following the DNN 7.0 installation videos to a t but when I try and access www.dnndev.me, as in video 4, I get this error.

"HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid."

I tracked the issue on Microsoft Development and it said:

"Delete the malformed XML element from the ApplicationHost.config file or from the Web.config file."

However I checked the web.config file for malformation and a validator said it was ok.
It's very frustrating and I've hit a brick wall so any ideas what to do from here?
I'm running Windows 8, IIS 8, and sql server 2008 express r2 sp2. I've also a xampp server installed but it has been turned off if that makes a difference.

Kind Regards,
John
