I just downloaded and setup DNN community 5.02.06 and set my Win 7 box to host it on iis7.
My plan is to learn how to develop modules using vs2010.
2 questions before I get too far because I am running into a couple errors that could be me or my process.
What Framework version should I use for my application pool, 2 or 4?
What Framework should my project target? I assume 4 if the above is 4 and 3.5 if the above is 2.

Thanks,
Tim

Dnn supports both 3.5 and 4.0 frameworks.

However, if you are building a new site and your hosting provider supports it - i would suggest you use the 4.0 framework.

Note - you will need to ensure both your development and live hosting's both utilize the same framework.

Just curious, is this answer still true of DotNetNuke 6?

Yes 6x supports both asp.net 3.5sp1 and asp.net 4.0  -  technically it is still running mostly 3.5sp1 framework elements even when installed on a asp.net 4.0 server - and all core modules are currently targeted to 3.5sp1.

One slight addition: The Razor Host module requires 4.0.
