Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to be able to set the default folder to "My Folder" instead of "Portal" in DNN? We are allowing a registered user to upload an image for their event listings but do not want to give them access to any folder other than their user folder under "My Folder"?

Is this something we can alter in DNN so that it automatically picks up on the "My Folder" folder?

Your help is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Toni Lynch

Hi Toni,

Image upload isn't controlled by the Events module, it is controlled by the editor you are using. If you are using the same one as on DNN.com, then that is RadEditor, otherwise it is likely to be FCKEditor.

You would need to research how this is configured in those editors. Bear in mind that RadEditor is wrappered by a provider in DotNetNuke, but I think it is still configureable through the standard RadEditor config files.

Cheers

Roger

Hi Tony

The default Telerik editor can be configured but you may have to dig around / research a little. FCK can be configured through its custom option page but it is not an intuitive UI
You may find the easiest way to configure your editor is to use the excellent DNNWerk editor provider.
This still uses the Telerik editor but solves some of the usability issues and provides a configuration module that lets you easily configure different editor/toolbars linked to roles.
It is free and easy to install.
It also lets you switch between available editor providers without need to touch the web.config.

TBH I cannot envisage ever going back to FCK or the default Telerik editor.

Hope this helps
