Good afternoon DNN :

I'm relatively new to the DNN framework, and I love it so far !   I have a background as a programmer.  I am having a specific problem that I think might be a simple explanation for someone who is more familiar with DNN.   I'm using version 5.06.02, and I've found the Events module very useful.  A user has the ability to change background and font colors by clicking "Edit Categories" on the modules edit menu.  a user types in a color "yellow" instead of a value.  Now when I attempt to edit categories, a critical error :

A critical error has occurred.
#yellow is not a valid value for Int32.

Can anyone tell me where this value is stored, so I can remove it ?  Any help would be appreciated, I would hate to have to remove and redo the module, as I've made customizations to it.

Thanks very much  :o)

Hi Jason,

The colour is stored in the EventsCaterories table. It should be easy to spot. We are planning on re-working the category edit interface, so we'll look to stop this happening in the future. I think the module only supports numeric colours at the moment.

Thanks

Roger

Well, I am interested in how to fix this. I wish I saw this post before I entered "red" for a background color. Guess what, error message. I deleted the module, cleared the module from the admin recycle bin, added a new events module, and I get this error message when I attempt to edit categories from the module action menu for the new event module. What am I missing here?

Hi Ken,

Se this thread for how to resolve - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F... - just change the string 'http:/cog' to 'red' and that should sove your problem.

I have raised an issue here - http://dnnevents.codeplex.com/workite... - to get this fixed in the next release.

Cheers
