I recently upgraded to 05.06.02 (144) and also migrated from  Server 2003 to Server 2008 R2 and I  have been experiencing issues from the go.

I set the application pool to Network Service in hopes this would correct the issue. But it hasn't so I returned to Identity...

At the moment I'm experiencing an issue where the Modules dropdown is not populated.

I looked in SiteSettings for Admn and there is nothing in Premium Modules, Selected Modules option.

If I go to Host/Module Definitions, for example HTML module it is unchecked for Is Premium Module, and for Assinged it is empty.

I'm at a loss as to what to do here.

did you make sure in host settings, to have compression turned off?

It's off.

After going to Host Settings, Performance Settings, I found Compression Settings. Would have figured it would have been under the category of Compression Settings. It's set to No Compression.

But I think I found the problem but I may be wrong in what I did.

I had to do the following:

  1. Under Host/Module Definitions

    Edit a Module

UnAssigned was showing empty as was Assigned

Clicked Update Module, UnAssigned became populated

Moved all sites from Unassigned to Assigne

    Clicked Update Module

Repeat for all modules that may not be showing up on Modules dropdown, this will only allow Admins to see Modules.
  2. Then to Admin, Extensions

     Edit module

select role to deploy (Registered Users?)

     Update Desktop Module

Move on to the next module and repeat.

There's got to be a quicker way to do this? Or perhaps a utility that goes and finds modules that are in use but not assigned to the site due to some glitch or human intervention? Or sql script that corrects the problem?

Anyway, got my list back.
