I am new to DNN and i am really having a hard time trying to get familiar with this, and therefore having positive criticism about DNN.

I am trying to develop my own questionnaire form for my company that has its website running in a DNN 5.  From all the resources that i have found online and the books i have read, none really explain in detail how can i create a form that i can convert in a module so that i can add it to the current website.

All the tutorials explain me how to use already defined forms and using other modules.   Is there any resource out there that i can use as a last resource before trying to convince my boss not to use DNN?

Can anyone out there help me?

Thank you very much

Alejandro

Alejandro,

I think the module you're looking for is the Form and List that comes with DNN. You can set this up with as many or as little custom fields as you like and will work as a standard form.

Rick,

Thanks for you fast response!  I have no Form module available, and i just looked at the Lists module and is not what i am looking for. These list makes me choose item by item for each of the asp:ListItem that i have in my aspx form.  I have a around 500 items and i am not planning on doing this manually.

I am actually trying to create a form for my website without using the tools DNN provides.  I am tying to build the module out of the aspx, aspx.cs files of my form to put this functionality in the website.  Am i doing this right? Is it so difficult to build your own module for this that is better to use others? DNN is supposed to make it easier for the developer, please enlighten my way for a happy journey to DNN.

Thank you again!

Alejandro

Alejandro,

Unfortunately I'm not too versed in module dev, as I focus on skins, have you tried putting a tweet out using the #DotNetNuke and #DNN hashtags?

Rick.
