Hi there!

This is my first time doing any website stuff and I was going along great with DNN until I tried to set up the forum module. I got it installed ok (have a godaddy hosting site, but no problems on the install). I got the module set up with groups and forums. But when I got to the part where I wanted to restrict roles, I get a nasty error. I click the "go" button in the role pop-up box and I get this error

Server Error in /nuke

Description: An application error occured on the server. The current custom (and I can't read anymore because of the small box, and can't scroll in it)

Any ideas what I did/doing wrong here?

Without seeing the error, I have no idea.

I am getting the same thing.  I just installed the forums module and everything works fine except when I go to the roles page.  I get the exact same error in the same window.  As he said you can not scroll and it is the 'generic' error message.

I changed the webconfig file so I could see the error and this is what it is returning:

INSERT statement conflicted with COLUMN FOREIGN KEY constraint FK_ModuleSettings_Modules.  The conflict occurs in database sapa table modules column id ModuleID.  The statement has been terminated.

I did a fresh install and am using version 4.0.2 which is an automatic install from WebHost4life.

Any help would be great!

I have only seen this error when using a dnn 3.2.2 or 4.0.2 or greater core along w/ a version of the forum before 3.20.01. What I am saying is upgrade your forum module. \
