I've followed the instructions and I've poured through dozens of posts on here and I just can't seem to get AD Auth to work.  I've tried with and without using impersonation.  I'm using the Classic .NET AppPool.  I removed anonymous access on /desktopmodules/authenticationservices/activedirectory/windowssignin.aspx and turned on Windows Authentication, and when I hit it happily taking me to the portal, but it still has the "Register|Login" up in the corner like I'm not logged in.

When I try to manually login with the Windows Login option tells me Login Failed and passwords are case sensitive.

The only thing I'm seeing in the event error is a repeating error about being unable to delete some cache files due to locking.

Any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Couple of quick questions.

When you try to manually login, how long is your password?

What happens if you go to http:///DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx?

Password is 9 characters.

If I go to the Windowssignin.aspx it forwards me to the portal but it still has "Register|Login" up in the corner like I'm not logged in.

I tried hitting windowssignin.aspx on a non-domain machine and it did pop up the windows login box and it took my credentials but the same deal once I got to the portal.

Thanks,
Isaac

Okay your password isn't the problem (DNN by default expects a 7 digit password). Your install is acting almost like it was still running under the Integrated pipeline. Is anything getting written to the Event Log on your DNN install when it tries to automatically log you in?

I just double checked and can confirm that the site is running under the Classic .NET AppPool and that the managed pipeline for that app pool is Classic.

The only errors I'm seeing in the event error is a repeating error about being unable to delete some cache files due to locking.
