I am having random issues with the site that will give an abort thread message at different points during a page copy or page add.  Sometime it will work and I think i have it figured out by changing a setting.  I can some what replicate it on a backup of the main website but it does not timeout/abort thread like the main site because I guess no other people are hitting the test site.  Sometimes it will take up to three mins to copy or add a page on this test site. Looking at the database I don't see any long running queries.  The DNN Server will not drop below 20% when I am trying to add the new page.  It does create the tabid but seems to be stalling with the permissions or something else because a lot of the time the tab will be left with sort order of 0 and level of 0 which is incorrect.  What could this be hanging on in the DNN page add/copy process?  I have tried to clean up data that was created wrong thinking that it could be causing the issue which not changes.  I change the different levels of cache and how it was cache with not real changes.  All the other functions of the website seem to be running smooth.  Could upgrading to .net 4.0 help anything or just create more problems?  If anyone has contact with a contractor that has helped them out of this situation please contact me.  I have been looking at this issue for almost a 1 week with no luck.  I know the other recommendation is to up grade to 5.6.2 but we have found security issue with that where our basic editors could delete modules and that is a big issue for use.  Might upgrade to the professional version so that the user security might not be an issue (could be a whole new setup issue) but not sure if that will help our not but need some new ideas because I am about out of them.

Running windows 2003 II6 3.5.NET 16GB of Ram on the server. A Separate SQL Box.  Plan on setting up something to see what the packets are doing in case we have something strange going on with the network.

Chris, I would see if you can monitor the file system and see if for some reason there are a large number of files "changing" on the server during the copy process.

I believe that there are instances where IIS will recycle an app pool because a large number of files have changed on a server, even if they aren't ASP.NET file changes.

So any files on the website or in just a certain location.  Is there something new or different with 5.6.0 that could be causing a bunch of file changes?
