I've got the AD provider working on Win Server 2008 R2/IIS7 and DNN 5.6.1 ...except...

For example, my extranet uses a domain called my.domain.net (not actual) while the network domain is just domain\... when a user first attempts to access the portal, he/she is prompted with a popup that uses my.domain.net\ as the domain instead of the correct one. The work around is to click Use Another Account and that works, but obviously the user is not being properly authenticated.  Has anyone overcome this?

Bill is this the IIS popup that you're talking about? That's actually normal. However if you put the site in your trusted/intranet sites (and your computer is on the domain) you shouldn't get that popup anymore. As for your client computers you can add the site via group policy.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, the IIS popup. I have added the website as an intranet site and the workaround I mention before makes that popup not return. My issue is more to help our network guys as they try to implement this company-wide. They have found that first time users see this popup and they (the users) don't know to change the my.domain.net domain so authentication fails. The server and all client machines (Win 7) are on the local domain. Should the website be both a trusted and intranet site? And/or is their something else?

I've never seen it popup on the first time so I can't say why it's happening but if they push it out to everyone's computer via Group Policy they shouldn't get the popup. Putting it in the intranet sites list should be fine.
