Every time one of my admins creates a link using the link manager, it creates a full url instead of a RELATIVE path. Even when linking to another page within dnn it still makes a full url path instead of a relative path. Does anyone know how to prevent this when using the link manager. Is there a setting in the web config that i can set?

This has been a long time problem in DNN as long as i can remember. But i can't really remember how to force the FCK editor to use Relative paths.
I thought i figured it out one time but this issue always seems to rear its ugly head after a migration. I'm using DNN 5.6.1

Does anyone know how to force the FCKeditor to use Relative through the link manager?

Please advise.
Thanks

In case you're still looking, this problem is addressed in the latest CkEditor provider (http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/) for DNN 5.3 and above. Defaults to relative urls for links and image urls, with option to change to full urls as needed.

CKEditor 3 is successor of FckEditor 2, which has known security issues and shouldn't be used any longer.

Wow...  CKEditor was our saviour.  Hadn't heard of any issues.  Someplace I can go to find out more?

What should we be using?  Fck went bad.  I tried DNN5RadEditor and it bombed on GoDaddy and I was told too bad...  CKEditor was recommended then as I recall.  I thought by you, too...

CuteSoft OK??.

It seems something as basic as an editor that works 90% of the time should be standard and core to DNN.   What do you pros use, Sebastian?

When is this GoDaddy/DNN feud going to end?  I feel like I've got people toying on both sides trying to break my site so they can blame the other guy...

Couple of comments about goDaddy - firstly it has not been a supported or recommenced platform for DNN for a very long time.

DNN and many other asp.net applications require full control of the hosting environment - something which godaddy is reluctant to hand over.  This starts with goDaddy not allowing read/write access in the root folder and and extrends thru configuration issues with the connection pool, and caps out with the way goDaddy has implement its webfarm/4g system, can the lack of file based database backup options is well - lets just say scary.

As for which editor to use - the dnn601 radeditor is a great tool - its the editor the is packaged with dnn and offers a wide variety of configuration options which can be tailored down to page and role levels.

goDaddy - claim to have full dnn601 support on their new hosting platform - so I guess you should ask them.
