when a language is published a new security role is created for that e.g. for german a "translators German" role is created and granted edit rights to the page. No other user is granted rights (though of course admin/host automatically can see it). Once the page is translated you can publish it - at this point the permissions from the master page are copied in (e.g. if the master page is visible to all users that permission is created). This allows you to enable content localization and the content is only visible when it's ready -and meets the same permissions as the original page.

What do you exactly mean with publishing? Is that just a matter of saving the content?

I think I get the picture now. First of all you have permissions per page. This includes all the modules on that page and each language is a different page. Right? When you add content in a module on that page and save the content it inherits the permissions of the page permissions.

I am still confused how content is published but in general it is getting clear to me now.

I think setting individual permissions for translated pages is not a good idea unless you really need to ... When you create new localized page it has just edit permission for role allowed to translate. But once you mark that page "Is Translated"  (through page settings) then you hit publish through Admin > Languages it will get same permissions as original page from which you translated. That's proper way to do it :). Hope I made it clear.

Hello, i don't know if there is something im doing wrong or just haven't understand properly.

I have a DNN site, that posted in spanish and added a catalan 2nd language.
If i want to have all content in both lang. when i chance a content HTML or Media text, it changes in both languages, i mean if i write text in spanish, it apears same in catalan. But as i read it seems to be possible to have same page (index.aspx for example) in catalan and in spanish, and depends on language choosen it would apear the correct one?
Would you please confirm that, and maybe xplain it step by step how to edit content of a page to have a 2nd language duplicate, and how to link that translation to the language choose.

Thanks a lot and i rly appreciate your effort and work.

B.

there are differnt solutions for your task: if you want pages in every language to act more or less independently, you may use core localized pages (go to Host:: HOst Settings and enable "Content Localization" at the very bottom, this will display new options in Admin :: Languages). If, on the other hand, you'd like all pages to be the same but just content being switched, you should use one of the solutions provided by DNN Core Team members: Apollo PageLocalization (pagelocalization.codeplex.com), EALO (ealo.codeplex.com) or DSLocalizator (dnn.tiendaboliviana.com). All require using modules supporting multilingugal content, you will find on their sites (modules are interchangeable) and e.g. on nuntiocontent.codeplex.com.
