I am trying to set up Shared SSL for an e-commerce site I'm building on DNN 5.6.2. My host is 3Essentials, and my shopping cart module is Smith Shopping Cart module from Smith Consulting.

When SSL is enabled, I'm having two problems when I'm logged in as super user:

1. I can no longer get to the Host page.
2. On page that is secured, there are no admin features available. No control panel at the top, no icon to allow access to module settings, nothing.

I also have the following problem when I am not logged in at all:

1. On the page that I secured, no images are displayed.

I have set up Shared SSL at 3Essentials in the PLESK control panel as instructed by an article in their knowledge base.

I have established the following SSL Settings in the DNN Site Settings:

SSL Enabled? checked
SSL Enforced? checked
SSL URL: https://ssl26.3essentials.com/mysite_secure (where mysite_secure is the virtual directory I set up on PLESK at 3Esentials)
Standard URL: http://www.mysite.com

I have established the following settings in the DNN Page Settings for the page that I want to be secured via SSL under Advanced Settings/Other Settings:

Secure? checked

Under Shared SSL at 3Essentials, all access to secured pages is redirected to https://ssl3.3essentials.com/mysite_secure/...

Under these settings, I can run all the way through a purchase using the Smith Shopping Cart and all pages are redirected as indicated above. A check at my test account at Authorize.net shows that the purchase has completed successfully.

It's just that, as I've stated above, no images are displayed on the secure page, and when I'm logged in as super user, no admin features exist, and I can not navigate to the host page.

Any idea what might be happening?

Thanks.

Oops, typo.

The sentence

Under Shared SSL at 3Essentials, all access to secured pages is redirected to https://ssl3.3essentials.com/mysite_secure/...

should read

Under Shared SSL at 3Essentials, all access to secured pages is redirected to https://ssl26.3essentials.com/mysite_secure/...

At least that's the case for my site. Other sites may be hosted on other 3Essential servers, and so the redirection would be to those servers.

Sorry for any confusion.

I came across the same issue while trying to implement shared SSL. It seems that all of the host pages are default checked (Secure? checked in tab settings).

However, with one of my apps which has its own domain SSL cert, this issue is not present so it must be a bug for shared SSL only.
