Hello,

Yes we are still on DNN 2.1.2, We have some strange issue one of the application is not working properly on windows7 with IE8 whereas same application works fine on windows XP with IE8. Problem on windows7 is it does not display formatting toolbar on top of text area it shows as x however on windows xp it shows us formatting toolbar. 

is there any setting that i need to enable on windows 7 or DNN 2.1.2 side? your help will be very much appreciated.

Have you tried running in compatibility mode with IE8 on the Windows 7 machine? You could also try using a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome to see if it has the same effect as well. If it does, it could be something related to the OS that is causing it although it's tough to say exactly what if that is the case.

it might be an issue of the text editor, DNN 2.1.2 used to use FreeTextBox3, which might need to be updated or replaced, e.g. by ckEditor 3.
