Hi, I have been trying to get into my dnn system for two days now. I installed it thru my server, everything went well. I came back in the next morning, entered my username and password and it won't let me in. I have been searching online as far as fixing it and all online answers talk about .net and asp and sql and I don't know what any of it means. I just need a way to access my username without having to use code. Is there a way? I have emailed DNN and haven't heard back. Any help is appreciated. I use Dreamweaver and know html but don't think that works here. I did get into my database in my server and went into file manager. All the files are there and the database is there but I don't know what to do with it.

Thanks,

Beth

Hi Beth,
when you installed DNN system, you would get 2 default administrator account:
Username: Admin, Password: dnnadmin; Username: Host, Password: dnnhost;

Did you used one of these accout to login or used account you created by yourself?
Have you got some error message from dnn when you logged failed?

Would you please offer more detailed information about this?

Hi Eileen:

I used the default usernames to get into dnn and changed them to bethhaddox, both host and admin. I then went back into dnn the next morning and it wouldn't open with my username. Is there some way to retrieve it without knowing code?

Thank you for your help,

Beth

Hi Eileen:

I'm sorry to be a bother but I didn't answer your question. No, there is no error message. It just says the username is wrong. I just tried to open my site again and got this message. see below. I have been in looking at the code for dnn thru my server but haven't edited anything. Maybe I should just delete it all and start over....

Thanks,

Beth

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>
