I'm brand new to DNN, decent technically, but little HTML experience.  I'm trying to create some basic HTML pages on our site, and the WYSIWYG editor is maddening to work with.  Bullets don't show, adding or deleting lines causes completely unpredictable results, and I'm basically ready to jump out the window.

I can't imagine that anyone actually works with this tool.  Isn't there some sort of offline tool - like MS-Word or something - that can be used to create pages that can then be pasted into DNN?

Appreciate any help from the community.  If you want to see the stuff I'm struggling with, check out the footers and Home/Newsstand pages on:  http://uweb.airsis.com/PowerHouse.

Thanks!

Chris B

I provided some bad info - the editor I'm struggling with is the RADEditor, not FCK.  Sorry about that.

Hi,
With DNN feature, you can add a HTML module to the page by logged in with an administrator account, then click the "Add Content" edit pencil to add the content you want to display on the page.
The HTML editor bringing by DNN has a good support for the HTML tags.
You can either use its toolbar in the visualization of "Design" mode or directly insert html tags in the "HTML" mode.
For example:
  • Bullet 1:
  • Bullet 2

Hi Chris,

If you;re using the Telerik Editor in conjunction with IE9, there are some issues,.see the blog post http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Blogs/EntryId/3031/DotNetNuke-Telerik-and-IE9.aspx

There are options available.

  • Upgrade the Telerik Editor (see link at end of the blog)
  • Upgrade to dnnWerk RAD Editor (which I believe will be included in DNN 6.0)
  • Switch to FCK Editor
  • Upgrade FCK Editor to CK Editor
I believe both the upgrades are available on CodePlex.

Hope that helps.
