Are you both using IE9 by chance?

Does compatibility mode help as was suggested by someone on Gilles' thread?

Hi Scott,

Yes I use IE9! I tried to reinstall DNN 6.0.0 with FF 3.6.17 and it works! IMHO, the core team should test each version with major browsers (FF 3.x, FF 4.x, IE 8 and 9, Chrome)!

After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

We are extensively testing with recent Chrome, FF and IE and to a lesser extent with Safari, Opera and older IE.

I have just run an install of the beta package using IE9 with no problems. If it were as simple as it never works in IE9 I'm sure it would have been caught long ago.

Is there anything "different" about your IE9 configuration like:
running in compatibility mode (or not)
any add-ons installed
is it a clean RTM install, or pre-release/upgrade from pre-release
anything else you can think of that may be different about your browser

Scott,

I can understand than you are not really happy with my comment, but this version has not been extensively tested with IE. If you have been able to install it with IE 9 it's probably because you use IE in compatibility mode!

I have performed 3 differents install (fresh install each time from scratch with the Install package), bellow my results:

- IE9 normal mode (page broken icon is grey):

The install wizard start and work untill the db scripts step. If you hit F5, you can continue the normal install. With this mode, the first steps screens use the old look and feel of the wizard. After hiting F5, the look and feel is the new one. When the install is finished, you can login to the web site but the login control is displayed in the page (not in the ligthbox) and you can connect.

- IE9 compatibility mode (page broken icon is blue):

The install wizard start and work completly with the new look and fell, but you CAN'T login to the website. The login control is NOT displayed at all!

- FF 3.x:

The install start and works completly and you can login to the website. The login control is displayed in the new lightbox.

My IE 9 is the standard one, no plugin installed nor special settings defined.

I'm running Firefox 5. I'd be surprised if that had anything to do with this problem.
