Normally I can figure this stuff out but I'm at my wits end.

I have an installation of 05.06.02 that's serving 4 or 5 sites. I went in to Admin > Site Settings > Appearance and set Portal Skin and Portal Container to my own custom skin/container respectively.

A few days go by and I'm ready to add another portal so I go to Host > Portals when I see that my skin has taken over that page as well. At this point all of the icons are showing up fine on the Host page but I think it looks a little silly with my custom design so I click "Edit" on the page, scroll down to advanced settings and change the skin back to Minimal_Entropy_Index and the container to Minimal_Entropy_Grey and hit update. There's sort of an odd postback and when I finally come back to a site page I'm on the home page. So I go up to the header and click "Host" (very top right) and I keep getting sent back to the home page. I try another tactic and go to the Host Tab in the header and click on "Sites" which successfully takes me to mywebsite.com/Host/Portals/tabid/17/portalid/0/Default.aspx. Alright, cool. I'll keep going.

When I go to the down arrow and select "Add New Portal" I get "Access Denied: Either you are not currently logged in, or you do not have access to this content." Wait, what? I'm logged in as a host account. I think maybe my profile has been corrupted so I create another super user account and log in as that and still can't create a new portal b/c of the same message. I try logging in through different portals and now "Host" doesn't even show up in the nav of the Minimal Entropy skin. I can backdoor my way into the pages by either using the header tabs or typing in the literal address, but once I get to the pages I can't do anything that a host should be able to do.

Thoughts? I'm really struggling.

Just updating as I go along. Went into a new installation and looked at the source code for how the "add portal" stuff is handled:

If (Not IsHostMenu Or UserInfo.IsSuperUser = False) AndAlso Not Host.DemoSignup Then
Response.Redirect(NavigateURL("Access Denied"), True)
End If

I checked and my account is flagged as super user and according to:

Response.Write(DotNetNuke.Entities.Host.Host.DemoSignup.ToString)

I don't fall under the HostDemoSignup clause so that leaves failing on Not IsHostMenu ....

Trodding down that path now.

Alright, lapdance for JEOW LI HUAN. Found this little page here after searching on IsHostMenu and it fixed my issue. Somehow a PortalID got assigned to my host page and for whatever reason that took my "Host Powers" away:

Back on track now.
