Hi,

I am trying to make a back-up of my database and cannot because it is marked as read-only, I checked the permissions, and my local user is added, so I don't know what the problem is. I am able to make changes to the database through my DNN instance...I have been logging in with a host account...not sure if this makes any difference, but wanted to mention it in case. I am using SQL Server Express.

If anyone has any insight into this, I would appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks so much!
Jenny

how does your connection string look like in web.config file (please do not post username and password, if any)?

ou cannot access a user instanced database with a tool, while the web site is running. Either stop the web site while accessing the database and make sure to detach it from your server subsequently before restarting the site or attach the database to your SQL server and adjust the connection string accordingly using "database=...." without "UserInstance=True"

Thanks for your reply. I went ahead and removed "UserInstance=True" from my web.config file and was able to back up the database. After doing so, I added it back to the web.config now, but now, when I try to run the website, I am taken to the Install page. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jenny
