Hello,

I've a new DNN instalation with the version: 05.06.02 (144)

I notive that when i create a hyperling to a page on the portal with the standart html editor, after saving it removes de domain from URL, for example:

If i select a page under home, the URL is: http://www.domain.com/Home/page.aspx and after saving it stays only /Home/page.aspx

It works in most cases but if i apply that module in the Home page, the hyperling don't work!

Because the URL in the html stays /Home/page.aspx and there is no page with the URL http://www.domain.com/Home/Home/page.aspx

I belive that are some settings in DNN to avoid this, otherwise it is a serious bug.

I hope you understand my message, maybe it is a little confuse.

Thanks in advance for you help.

This is causing me serious issues.

Regards

I had the reverse problem where I WANTED relative urls and the editor at the time only gave me absolute urls.  I changed to the CK Editor [ http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com/ ] at the suggestion of several others on the forums.  The CK editor gives you CONTROL for each link whether to have it be relative or absolute [or 'secure'  using LinkClick for files].  After using CK Editor I have found merit to using each type of link at different times and in different situations [as you have discovered], and the editor causes me pause to think about it, and to change my mind...

dnn 5 RadEditor [dnnWerks], also free, was also recommended but I found it easier to get CK Editor up and running in short order and stayed with it.  dnn 5 RadEditor supposedly gives you the choice as well.  If you poke around the forums you will find many, many complaints about only having absolute urls and not being able to migrate your site; perhaps you haven't gotten to that point yet, but might want to consider it.

Good Luck.

I discovered that my issues with dnn 5 RadEditor not working had to do with a known incompatibility with GoDaddy hosting and trust levels, so it could be a solution for you as well as CK as long as you're site(s) not on GoDaddy...

Hi Robert, thanks for your help.

I've some DNN instalations, in one the DNN version is 5.6.1 and the editor is DotNetNuke Fck Html Editor Provider 2.0.4 and it puts the absolute URL, in the other instalation the version of DNN is 5.6.2 and the editor is exactly the same and the URLs are relative.

So maybe there is some option instead of editor.

Someone else had more opinions about this issue?

Thanks again

Best regards

Peculiar.  After saying they wouldn't change it they did... ?

It would be great to know if the choice exists in the default editor now...
