One of the security changes in 5.6.3 was to modify in web.config the element to set the enableEventValidation attribute to "true" rather than "false" as it has been prior to 5.6.3.

Just a hunch . . . but try changing enableEventValidation back to "false" and see if the error goes away. If it does, make sure that the DotNetNuke.HtmlEditor.TelerikEditorProvider.dll file found in the installation's \bin folder is file version 5.6.3.0 and that all .ascx, etc. files found in \Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Telerik were also updated to the latest versions. If the assembly is an earlier version or the the .ascx files for the TelerikEditorProvider did not get updated it would appear that the installation of the TelerikEditorProvider_05.06.03_Install.zip package contained in the \Install\Provider folder of the 5.6.3 upgrade package failed. If that is the case I would try re-installing the TelerikEditorProvider_05.06.03_Install.zip package using the Host-->Extensions, Install Extension Wizard.

Don't forget to reset enableEventValidation to "true" following resolution of this issue.

In any case, I'll be interested to know if my hunch is correct or I'm way off base . . .

 Hi William,

Here is a follow-up.  A few days ago I was in a rush and only made sure that the latest versions of the Telerick dll's and all the files in the Providers/HTMLPorviders/Telerik folder were the correct ones (i.e. made sure they were the updated files for 5.6.3).  However, I didn't make the change to enableEventValidation.  When I set this to false in web.config - the Image Manager for the Telerik HTML Editor started working again...  If I change it back to true - it doesn't work.

Alan,

So my hunch was correct - that the issue is related to the change in event validation in DNN 5.6.3. Now to find out why the error is being thrown . . .

Please check the version of the Telerik.Web.UI.dll assembly file located in the site's \bin folder. This assembly was updated in DNN 5.6.3 and should show a file and product version of 2011.1.519.35 when you hover over the file and right click Properties then Details. If it shows an earlier version 2010.... then the Telerik package (\Install\Module\Telerik_05.06.03_Install.zip) did not install properly as part of the upgrade.

I have exactly the same issue, and I have also done all the checks suggested above (those in the "Before upgrading to 5.6.3 read this" blog post, and the checks Bill suggested.

Allan - did you ever get this working?

Bill - do you have a 5.6.3 instance, and is the Telerik image manger working on that?

Thanks
