Hi.

I enabled RSS for an event module, altered the "Feed Description" template to eliminate the importancelabel, but it does not seem to work.

DNN 5.6.0
Upgraded Events to to 5.2.0

The setting is changed in the database, this is my new string:

[IFHASIMAGE]<a href="[event:imageurl]">[event:eventimage]</a>[/IFHASIMAGE]<table>[IFHASCATEGORY]<tr valign="top"><td class="SubHead"><span class="SubHead">[event:categorylabel]</span></td><td><span class="Normal">[event:category]</span></td></tr>[/IFHASCATEGORY][IFHASLOCATION]<tr valign="top"><td>[event:locationlabel]</td><td>[event:location]</td></tr>[/IFHASLOCATION]</table>[event:description]

The new template string also appears on top of the RSS feed, in the description. Same for the title. (why o why are the template strings used as title and description of the channel?)

Cleared the cache (host settings - performance), restarted the website, but the new template string isn't applied. Or is it related to IIS caching?
Perhaps a bug in the TokenReplaceControllerClass?

I just tried to change the template for the RSS Feed Description template and removed the Importance row. It worked OK.
I am not sure what you mean by "The setting is changed in the database". Please use the Events settings option (not the module settings, but the Event settings), enable the RSS feed (see the section for RSS feed), move to the bottom of the Events settings, open de Templates section, select the RSS Feed description template, remove the html row with the importance, click to Update the template, click to update the settings.
That should do the trick.

Thanks Ernst Peter for your quick reply.

I meant 'the new template string has been reflected in the database'. I pulled the string out of the database.
Yes, I did go to event settings, just like you described, but it didn't do the trick for me.

You can see the RSS on the folowing link:
http://www.kantens.nl/DesktopModules/...

The RSS shows the template strings /rss/channel/title and /rss/channel/description but the sample event still shows:
<tr valign="top"> <td> Importance: </td> <td> Normal Priority </td> </tr>

Maybe I should try to use other tokens and see if they are replaced.
Which DNN version and events module version did you use, Ernst Peter?

I see the rss, which does not seem OK.
Can I have a look into the admin/settings for the template for that feed? If you can allow me admin access to the site that would help. My address is ernst.peter.tamminga at the domain mentioned in my signature

For the record: Geert mixed up the title and description of the RSS feed as such and the title and description of the items in the RSS feed. The items ae templated, the title/description of the feed a a whole, not.
Case solved!
