Looking to re-skin the core forum module (develop a new theme).  Is there guidance on how to do this?  I would really like a theme that uses minimal images if possible.  When I load the forums up on my site the page is so heavy (340k), I imagine its killing people with slower internet and maybe dragging my bounce rate up.

There was a time (when Rob P. was involved) that some documentation existed, but no idea where it is now. Best advice I can offer is to copy an existing theme and rename the folder and the css file to the same thing and start tweaking the css file. It's been ages since I opened it, but I remember correctly there are some comments about what does what.
