I get messages sometimes cut off at the end of the message or maybe they are writing a novel and dont know that I will only get so much of the message.

I am making a request to have a feature with maximum message length setting and possibly a display for the user to show them how many chars they have left before they reached the max message size.

It has a max message size as of now or it would not cut off which is something I am sure you have to have... I just hate explaining that I only get part of a long message to someone that took the time to write it to me.

In Feedback v 5.00.02, the maximum number of characters for the message body that will be stored in the database is 1000. Unfortunately this limitation is not enforced in Feedback.ascx. The multi-line asp:textbox control for the message body renders as an HTML textarea element which does not provide a maxlength attribute. A regular expression validatior control would need to be added to enforce the maximum number of characters that can be typed but it would not be triggered until the user tabbed out of the message body or submitted the form. Most likely a bit of javascript or jQuery will be necessary to enforce a character limit clientside.

Please log this as an issue or feature request in the Feedback project's issue tracker at http://dnnfeedback.codeplex.com/worki.... It might also be well to request that the database limitation of 1000 characters also be increased.
