Hi

I'm trying to remove some toolbars from the text editors that appear in the built in FAQ module, i don't need most of the toolbars so just want to leave the essentials. I've found this post http://truedeveloper.blogspot.com/201... that describes what I need to do, but I need to make a change to the code behind to amend the page load event, I don't seem to have this in my project, is there a way of doing this change via the ascx only?

Thanks
Martin.

Hi Martin
The way I would do this is to install the DNNWerk RadEditor Provider http://radeditor.codeplex.com/

Add the config module to an admin page. You can now use this to configure toolbar sets for different / all users.

This provider is now part of DNN 6 so you are not going sideways with something that will have to be changed later on.

BTW: Are you aware that there is a new and much better version of the FAQ module.

you dont need to make the changes in the ascx, you only need to do it in the config file -the reason that article is doing it that way is to ensure that the changes dont get overriden on an upgrade (which is wise). However with dotnetnuke 6 there is a built in UI and support for setting things such as this as a much more granular level -see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/Viewer/VideoId/297/DotNetNuke-6-RadEditor-Changes.aspx for a video

Hi
Thanks for all the replies.

Managed to sort it by downloading the source code for the latest version of the FAQ module from codeplex, then making the changes to the code behind, to load the custom tools.xml file.

I wasn't aware that dnn6 had gone live. Typical isn't it I just get to the end of a upgrade to 5.6 and a newer shinier version comes out to tempt me :) ha.

I will defo take a look at the new DNNWerk provider.
Thanks
Martin.
