I found the solution to your problem.
First of all, this is a bug in DEBUG mode only so i suppose you are having this problem with debugging with Visual Studio ( not when you use directly IIS without debug mode)


Actually it's a bug in Default.aspx.cs file (line 630) wich is loading a missing js file.

                ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude("modalPopUp", ResolveUrl("~/js/Debug/dnn.modalpopup.js"));
#else
                ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptInclude("modalPopUp", ResolveUrl("~/js/dnn.modalpopup.js"));
#endif


So to fix your problem without changing code :
==> Step1 :Create a subfolder named "Debug" into "js" folder
==> Step2: Copy/Paste dnn.modalpopup.js into it

 I wanted to let you guys know, that I have been having an issue selecting the option links in the manage area of the modules. I beat my head on my desk until I found the error code in fire fox error console. Did some searching and find this post here. I checked to see if the debug file was in the JS folder and it's there (I believe I'm using the latest version - DNN was provided via my webhost)... I am a major newbie with little vb code background. I did this as a last ditch effort and it worked

 Not sure what would cause it.... Let's put it this way, I could not see the details in the event viewer, I had to email them to myself to see what was going on with some other stuff.

I am also not using any custom modules ... and using the dark night default skin. Further the only 'custom' modifications I did was add my own images at the logo area and banners on some of the sites. - I have stronger HTML code background ... way stronger SQL background.... very little VB or C# background.

If there is another fix for this that someone might be able to give me steps in plain english/laymans terms I'll be happy  to go through it.

PS - is there a way to remove the subfolder from the url? I saw the fix keeps getting pushed back in another post.
