To determine the memory usage I am just using task manager and by having a separate named app pool for each web site I can see how each site is performing.

I accept this will not give a fully accurate picture but gives a comparative reference to each site.
I had recycled the app pool but to make further certain I have restarted the web server and then gone through several pages.

The site is now 158MB which is lower than yesterday but this was after just 5 minutes of site surfing including admin and host pages.

My impression it is definitely using about 50MB more than previous versions but this is a rather crude test and I appreciate this is on a new version that could be further optimised.
You talk about loading the VB.NEt libraries and C# libraries potentially cause the extra mem load, as most of the third party modules are I assume written in VB.Net won't this mean that we will always have a bigger footprint.

FYI - This is what is loaded in the site and it is a 64 bit Win 2008 Version

Does that mean that if we use THIRD party modules, it is possible to have some memory increase ? Ventrian for example (it is vb i guess) ?

Thanks

Any module you add to the app has the potential to increase the memory used.

What i mean is what Cathal previously wrote about bigger pool sizes because VB and C libraries etc were loading. And he suggested to recycle to free from vb after the upgrade.

So, if we use 3rd party modules in VB, isn't that the same ? Would that double the memory footprint ?

We all recognise that adding more modules will potentially increase the footprint.

The issue in question here is how does DNN6 compare with DNN5.

What we have here is a great product that provides a fantastic web application framework that we all use and enjoy.

The thread here is to be constructive.

The points are :-

1. Establish if the memory footprint has increased from DNN5.
2. If it has, is the footprint too large
3. If it is too large is this something which should be addressed.

These are unanswered questions and I would appreciate feedback from other users
