Dear All,

Please advise how to remove the search bar and Register/ Login links from my DNN site running on DNN 6.0.

Thanks.

These can be done by editing your skin - HOWEVER - you will need access to the login page in some form so that you as the administrator can edit the content of your site.  As for removing the search - seems odd - its and automatic feature that only serves to enhance your site.

Yes, Search is an important feature, but I have too many items on my menu, and some of them jump down the line because of search bar. The CSS doesn't take care of it so the menu bar doesn't extend in the new skin. In MinimalExtropy, the menu bar would extend in such cases. I just want to hide the search bar, not remove the search feature. May Be I will define a search button later.

Dear Friends,

I tried several things to hide the search bar and Login | Register (Reigster is automatically removed when we set Registration to off; so the issue is removing Login) but it didn't work out. May be the changes need to be made at more than one place. I edited the skins.css (to add display:none) which works in Firebug but not on live site after I update the skins.css and upload.

Please help.

I did the following to remove the login link and it worked perfectly:

1) Created a Login link on another DNN page (an non-secured page) so that admins have a place to go to Login (All I did was copy the address of the Login link from the home page and add an html module at the bottom of one of my pages and put an anchor tag with that address in the content)

2) I am using the DarkKnight skin that came with DNN6 so I edited the skin.css file from the
Portals/_default/Skins/DarkKnight folder and set the css style with the Login id to display:none
Example: #Login{text-align:right;color:#c5c5c5;display:none}

Refreshed my home page and the Login link was gone.
