I have downloaded and installed the latest AD module but in 6.0 I cannot find the authentication section to activate it.

What am I missing???

I haven't got a 6.0 copy handy but it should be under Admin->Extensions and then click on the pencil beside the provider.

It is there but marked as NOT USED...

Previously there was an authentication section under host or admin...it isn't there now.  How do you USE the AD extension?  Do you put in on a page?  If so, I don't see it listed.

There appears to be no way to access it from anything I can find...

Just completely lost here....

Ahh, you're coming from the 4.0 DNN versions. It all changed in DNN 5.

There should be an edit pencil to the left of the provider in the Extensions section. If you click on that pencil it'll take you into the settings which is very similar to the DNN 4 look and feel.

Here is another post where it's explained.

Simply go into Host->Extensions->Available Extensions tab->DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication->Install->Follow the wizard. After installation is successful->go into Admin->Extensions->Authentication Systems section->DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication->click on edit icon to configure

Note: Ensure you have Full trust prior to installation
