Something went wrong when I tried to create a new child portal.  Problem is the portal appears in the portal list, but I can't actually delete it as when I try to edit portal I get an error.  I tried creating a new portal of the same name, but it says a portal of that name already exists.

I need to have a portal of that name so what can I do?

Thanks

Liz

enter the database and delete the entry manually. check for the existence of a subdirectory with this name and delete it as well.

How do I do that?

use your Database management tool (enterprise manager or Access) and display all records of Portals table. Delete the unwanted entry. Access Portal folder from file system or ftp and check for existing subfolder with the name of the subportal. if it exists, delete it.

Check, that the worker process is allowed to create folders on top level of portal installation folder. Now try creation of your subportal again.
