Hi! I'm a new user of DNN. I'm trying to build a simple site; however, I'm having a bit of problem using the modules I have installed. Although I have already installed I can't seem to use them. The modules that I have newly installed are already found in the Host ----> Extension. But they are not in-use. What do I need to do so that I can use them. Please can anyone help me with this. Thank You So Much!

Modules aren't 'in use' until you add them to a page (that way you know that if a module is not in use, you're safe to uninstall it). Go to a page, then use the Modules menu on the top menu bar to add them to it. Post up if you need more help.

Also a n00b (said that I know) but for what it might help.

Go to a page (or add one), change to layout view.
Ensure the "control panel" are expanded (top of page .... if you are logged in as admin)
Select the module you want to install (Common Task) and the pane it should go into.
Click "Add Module".

Cheers,
Krok

Hi TJ, I assumed that as a new user you would be using DNN 6 with the new Ribbon Bar (which is actually just a menu bar at the top of the page). If you are using DNN 5, then you may need to expand the old Ribbon Bar (or Control Panel) by clicking the down arrows on the top right of the screen. Then as Krokonoster says above.

Thanks for replying to my post. Here's what I did.

1. I went to a page Home -----> Sample
2. Clicked on the module on the top portion of the screen.
3. On the radio button I chose Add New Module
4. I have already installed Blog Module, so it should probably show up on the module on the Module Selection, right?

However, it has only one content HTML.
