Realizing this post has not been commented on in over 3 years, I ran across this issue the other day while developing a module.

The problem for me occurred in the  .ascx file I was working on somewhere in the control registers... for me..

<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="Label" Src="~/controls/LabelControl.ascx" %>

The Fix,

 add a new line, in front of the register control, save the file, remove the line, save the file

Viola! The site loads without error.

 It must be some form of corruption on save of the aspx file.

 

Probably wont help anyone else, but maybe.
