My upgrade keeps failing on the DB update steps 5.0.0 and a few others, looking into the error, my 4.9.5 db is not layed out like the 5.0.0 is looking for (many differences), to see what is up, I installed a new 4.9.5, and upgraded to 5.4.4, no problem.  So I went back and compared my working 4.9.5 db, to the new install 4.9.5 db, and there are tons of differences (fields that don't exist in tables, lots of missing primary and foriegn keys, etc...).

Shouldn't my live DB look just like a new db of the same level?

How can I get my live db fixed?

Please help, I am frustrated to no end.

Thanks-

-Cliff

It looks like I may have lost some indexes a couple years back durring an upgrade from our original version 4.8.2 -> 4.9.3.

Since getting to 4.9.3 the entire portal has been built and modified for over 2 years now. Is there anyway to repair the 4.9.3 database? Or, is it possible to export my data, and import it into a clean 4.9.3 database?

Thanks-

Cliff-

what you can try is to compare your database with a clean database and sync changes back to your modified database. One of the tools you could use for that is Red Gate SQL Compare (http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-...)

Great call.  I was able to get the DB in sync using the red-gate software, then upgrade to 5.4.4.  Of course now I am having some menu issues, but that will be another post.

Thanks Erik!
