I am new to DNN. I finally got over the glitches and installed DNN successfully. Thanks to all the useful posts on this forum !

When I open my DNN homepage and logon using either admin/host credentials, I dont see any admin or host tab at the top. All I see is the same page that I saw before logging in. There is only a "Home" link on the top bar. I would appreciate if someone can help me with this.

Thanks

do you get logged in (does login change to name)? If not, kill your cookies. otherwise it might be an installation issue, check, whether the admin and host modules did get created in desktopmodules and portalmodules tables in your Db.

Thanks for the reply. I do login and login does not change to name ! I still see Register & Login on right hand top corner. The authentication works though because if I give a wrong username & login it throws error. I deleted cookies, still the same thing happens. Regarding checking Desktopmodules table.. I did not get you. Can you please explain. I did see a table named DesktopModules in my DB but I saw a table named Portals and PortalDesktopModules but not PotralModules as mentioned by you.

If you do not see your name, you do not get logged in - forget about the other suggestion. Have you tried using another browser or pc?

I have tried both IE & Mozilla Firefox. Both of them have the same problem. I have not tried a different pc though.
