I'm sure I'll get a newbie label for this...but in resetting my super user password why does it email me my username and *******

How can I actually reset my password if I don't know my old one and yes this is my site:)

Thanks in advance for any help.

thats a built in protection-admin/superuser passwords are never sent in emails (as email is normally in clear text). There are workaround such as http://blogs.snapsis.com/CommentView,guid,3078311e-6925-4c03-8243-d1b9c8a11906.aspx -or else you can simply register a new user and then go into the database and copy that users password and salt value over to your host user and log in that way.

One of my client's lost their password, one time. I found the easiest way was to use the database option.

i upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0.0 in a GoDaddy dedicated virtual server instance and have had nothing but problems. first, the Telerik.Web.UI version reference in the register.config file (that needs to replace the web.config file after an upgrade with the appropriate changes for the database connection string) was incorrect.  it should be <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0929.35" />   instead of  <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2008.0.0.0-2020.0.0.0" newVersion="2010.02.0713.35" />.  after what appeared to be a successful installation, I was then locked out of my superuser account.  I then created a new dummy account that i could log into the site and used the Password and PasswordSalt values to populate my superuser account in the asp_membership table.  then everything fell apart.  i could no longer access the site at all:
An error has occurred. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionButtonList.get_ModuleActions() at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.ActionButtonList.OnLoad(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

i am going to have GoDaddy rollback to the previous version since the website is now completely inaccessible.
