I asked my provider to move the domain to a Windows 2008 Server, with IIS7.5/.NET 4, confident that this was an IIS 6 issue.

Instead, the problem remains, and now I have almost EXACTLY the same IIS, same files (except for web.config , in the connection string part) and same database, that I have on my Win 7 machine

All files and folders have read/write permissions, the only differences are in the CAS permission, described in my previous post.

Why Login.ascx.cs is redirecting after login in Production, and is not redirecting after login on localhost?

Thanks

I described this same scenario a couple weeks ago after upgrading to DNN 6. I was told to turn off popups. I did that but had the same issue with the normal login. The spinner stopped spinning but it didn't redirect to the site. If I click on any site link I am logged in and see the control panel menus.

Now my HTML module won't ever close after clicking Save. The spinner just keeps turning. But if I click a page link the content was saved. Not sure if there is any relation here. I don't have that issue with Saving settings or saving content on other modules. Only the HTML module. Is there a way to reinstall the HTML module to try and repair it if there is an issue with just that module? When I look at my install log it looks like the HTML module installed correctly. Here is the end of the event log.

Info:: Component installed successfully - Cleanup

Info:: Installation committed

Info:: Installation successful. - DNN_HTML

Info:: Deleted temporary install folder

Info:: Installation successful.

Found.
The problem (login pop up remains open after successful login) appears if Application Pool Managed Pipeline Mode is set to CLASSIC (IIS 7.5 and IIS 6).

If is is set to INTEGRATED (IIS 7.5) all is working fine.

Any workaround for this? I don't know if my provider is willing to modify my application pool settings.

integrated is default for IIS 7 and 7.5 - and uses less resources on the server, i.e. your hosting provider should be happy to switch your site to it.
