I had to ask my provider to move my domain on a new server with IIS 7.5, which it did quick and free, and now on the admin page of my domain there is a form that allow customers to choose  pipeline mode and .NET framework version

Anyway my problem is now finally solved!

Thank you

I guess I should have been more specific. I operate my own dedicated server so that is why I am on Server 2003 and IIS 6. I am investigating moving to new server hardware and upgrading to Server 2008 OS and IIS 7.5. But that is going to take short while. So I was looking for more immediate options.

We had this same problem with IIS 6 ,and after much hair pulling, found that the solution is to make sure the site is running in .Net 4.0. .Net 2.0 appears to have issues with DNN 6.0.1
