Hi all,

I've just gotten back into DNN module writing after 3 year break. Use DNN 6.0 and the C# module template. When I install the module via "Create New Module" and select manifest, it creates my module (just a simple module with an sql install script) but when I add the module to a page it tells me it can't find my stored proc. I don't see any evidence that the install script was run. No tables or stored procs were created. How do I get the install script to run when developing locally?

Do I have to run the sql script manually?

thanks,
Stephen

Hello, welcome back! Yes, you do have to run the script manually (go to host->sql, paste your script and select the checkbox to reformat the objectqualifier/databaseowner tokens)- creating a module by manifest just creates the definition -it makes an assumption all the files referenced are in place and database scripts already run. To build a module that runs scripts as well you would use a more convential approach and create a module - there are lots of handy videos at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Video-Library/CategoryId/6/Development.aspx that can let you know about options and the wiki is a mine of useful information http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/loc/allpages/Cat/Development.aspx
