Thanks Cathol and Mike.

I was able to get it with your second suggestion Mike. I edited the web.config and well I was not sure what you were talking about (looks like you missed some words in what you were trying to tell me).... So I first commented out:

<add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory" />

in the modulessection, and it seemed to work. Advise if this was not correct... I can now view the web and when I go to the WIndowsSignin.aspx I get a popup window for username and pass and I login, and it seems to work.

Ahh I just looked up and I guess on a quick post it blocked my code line. Yes you removed the right line.

no problem. thanks again! everything seems perfect. BTW... this is the RC I am using now... when will the final be released?

As soon as I can find some time to update the documentation (time is very limited in August). However there will be no difference between the RC and the final. It'll just be a label change in Codeplex.

ok perfect thanks. i just wanted to make sure cuz I was going live in september, so wanted to make sure I did not have to do an update right away.... thanks!
