Hey

I'ave just started my journey into DNN, a friend of mine asked me to help him out with his homepage, and I have experience of web developing, tho not in DNN. Now the thing is, he's got 1 page that he wants to be easy accesible for customers, lets call it:

www.testpage.se/products

Now my simple solution was to just create and extra page which would redirect you to the long URL "www.testpage.se/category/catb/products.aspx

But when I created the page, typing in www.testpage.se/products wouldn't work, seing as IIS needs the .aspx to find the correct location (If i understand correctly).

So the link looks like

www.testpage.se/products.aspx

And that doesn't look very good on a buisness card, so is there an easy way to just remove the page extension for 1 page? I dont need to remove them from the entire website, just from this one page. And he doesnt fancy the idé of paying ~120$ to remove the extension for 1 page.

He's running IIS7 on Classic Mode.

Any help is appriciated!

Regards

Patrik

i would do this with virtual directories in IIS i.e. create a folder called "products" and configure it as the redirect (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2721668/iis-redirect-url-for-virtual-directory ) - alternatively add a urlrewrite rule to the built in rewrite provider (to do so you'll need a page that DotNetNuke understands so create a "products" child portal)

I think I get what you're saying, just to clarify:

I create a folder ( Not a page? ), which I then configure in IIS to redirect to the page I want?

yes, IIS needs a physical resource to hit before it can process so create a folder (you may want to right click and convert it to an application as well)
