I recently upgraded a site to DNN 6, and I have a very odd issue. Consistently, the first time you log in to the site in a browser session, after the successful login the site loads inside the login popup dialog, instead of the dialog closing and the site refreshing. Then if you close the dialog, the menu disappears from the site. You have to manually refresh the page to see yourself logged in and see the menu again. You can see this happen at http://www.AccessCharterSchool.org with the username 'parent' and password 'parent1'.

Any ideas why this is happening or how I can fix it? I know I can just turn off the pop-ups, and I'll do that if I have to, but I would prefer to keep them.

please check the url of the page opening in popup iframe, there might be an error code included.

There have been a few reports of this sort of thing happening when dnn is hosted inside a virtual folder instead of as a root application.

I believe there are some changes coming in dnn601 - which is due withing a few days - that were designed to resolve this sort of issue.

But having said this - looking at your site - the login issues maybe more complicated than a problem with the popup.
If I access the login page directly - at try to login - the login is actually failing for some reason.

go to http://www.AccessCharterSchool.org/login.aspx - use the user name and password you listed - and the login does not properly validate running in chrome.

Would be interested to know it there are any errors in your event log - and whether there are any old legacy issues in your web.config that may be leading to authentication issues.

I tried that and see what you mean. No errors in the event log after the failed login, in fact when I logged in as host immediately after and looked at the event log, it showed that the apparently failed login actually succeeded.

It possible that part of the upgrade did not properly merge some items into the web.config file.
If you have the option - I would create a test install of dnn - and then compare the web.config of that test install to your live sites web.config.

Id be looking to see that all the provide modules are correctly listed in your live web.config  for example.

To be totally sure I would also maybe copy the /bin/ folder across from the test install - directly to you live site - once you have made sure that the web.config files contain the same sort of info.
